A collection of commissioned embroidery
Creative Stitches, Designs and Digitising by Pauline Thomas
Things I have been asked to do.
Thereby creating rich designs with highlights, depths and a presence that is so much more, than just an enduring version of a print.
Commissioned work to date includes, Bespoke Club Blazer pockets, Leisurewear, Dance costume, Table runners, Banners, Horse blankets and numnahs, Ecclesiastical accessories, Wedding attire, Hats, Scarves, Cushions, Badges, Team and Work wear, Customised gifts and cards, Family and Club crests, Heraldic emblems for Livery companies, to name just a few.
The diversity and end use for the embroidery designs created, make every application and project different, perhaps as a unique one of a kind or for multiples as a production run.
All work and designs shown here, have been originated and digitised for stitch by Pauline Thomas, from her drawings, designs or artwork supplied by the client.
I have always taken this considered and dimensional approach to all my embroidered designs and commissions, rather than just accepting all the black outlines and blocks of flat colour in a printed artwork.
As a traditional digitiser, I do not use automatic digitising techniques to just scan vectored artwork, which okay, enables some really economical digitising rates and quick turnaround times. But often in production, these types of files, generate a lot of trims, excessive colour changes and higher stitch counts creating a lot of down time and increased production costs.
I actually prefer to work manually from a drawing, because the results are not only aesthetically more pleasing and creative , I can also have total control for colour sequences, stitch paths, underlays, stitch styles and pattern with minimal but effective colour changes, thread trims, which encourages lower final stitch counts without loss of detail or quality. Thereby creating rich designs with highlights, depths and a presence that is so much more, than just an enduring version of a print.
If you have a project in mind involving embroidery that you think you would like me to help you with, then please contact me preferably by email, with details of your commission request and any images that may help, then I will get back to you as soon as I can.
Over the years my customers have driven what I do and how I work, providing creative embroidery solutions , every thing was done in house and with a personal and artistic touch that is the hall mark of everything that I do.
